Problems and advances in the mesenchymal stem cell therapy for ischemic heart disease

An article reviews the mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs) therapy for ischemic heart disease (IHD). The authors discuss the advantages of MSC therapy, strategies of its modification for improvement of the MSCs regenerative properties, the use of biomaterials as MSCs carriers. The results of the experimental and clinical studies of MSCs in IHD are presented.
