Antimicrobial resistance: arguments and facts

Antimicrobial resistance threatens the effective prevention and treatment of an increasing range of infections. Rational use of available antimicrobials based on their spectrum of activity and antimicrobial resistance profile of common pathogens becomes more and more urgent. Therefore, we need to organize scientific and social events to discuss a range of issues related to the prevalence of bacterial infections, difficulties in microbiological diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance and prospects of usage of different classes of antimicrobials in the treatment of infections.
