General principles of antimicrobial therapy for infective endocarditis

Adequate and timely antimicrobial therapy in patients with infective endocarditis reduces mortality and allows to achieve cure with minimal anatomical changes in the heart valves. The current practice of antimicrobial treatment for infective endocarditis in the Russian Federation does not always meet the current recommendations.
