Efficacy and pharmacoeconomic aspects of treatment of chronic brain ischemia in the Komi Republic

Aim

To study the efficacy and pharmacoeconomic aspects of treatment of patients with chronic brain ischemia.

Material and methods

Forty five patients with chronic brain ischemia were enrolled in the open-label prospective study. Twenty one of them were treated with intranvenous vinpocetine over 10 days.

Results

Treatment with vinpocetine resulted in improvement of inscomnia, depression and anxiety. The reproduction of numbers and the parameters of brief memory have also improved. The study showed the economic benefits of inpatient substitution technologies, i.e. day care.

Conclusion

Our study showed the efficacy of vinpocetine in the treatment of chronic brain ischemia.
