Prevention of type 2 diabetes in patients with chronic heart failure

This review article summarizes recent data on the prevalence, prognosis, pathophysiology, and therapeutic strategies to prevent type 2 diabetes in patients with chronic heart failure. Particular attention is paid to conflicting data on the metformin’s effect on cardiac remodeling in patients without diabetes.
