Information resources for access to evidence-based clinical trials of medicines in the preferential segment are limited, and, therefore, treatment is not always effective and safe. The development of an electronic database for a quick search for medicinal data may optimize prescribing and purchasing of medicines for patients.

Aim

To develop a methodology for information filling the Database of Clinical Trials of Medicines for the most frequently purchased and prescribed medicines in the Program for Providing Essential Medicines to Preferential Categories of Citizens and justify the need to use the service to improve the quality of pharmacotherapy.

Material and methods

We describe the Database of Clinical Trials of Medicines that can be used to access information about medicines.

Results

The technique of information search has been developed for filling Database of Clinical Trials of Medicines with the clinical trials data including the effectiveness, safety and indications for pharmacotherapy in various patients.

Conclusion

The use of Database of Clinical Trials of Medicines will facilitate the prescribing of rational pharmacotherapy to patients treated in the framework of Program for Providing Essential Medicines to Preferential Categories of Citizens.
