Cardio- and nephroprotective effects of antihypertensive therapy in nonadherent hypertensive patients

Aim

To evaluate the impact of various regimens of antihypertensive treatment on blood pressure and target organs in nonadherent hypertensive patients.

Conclusion

Over one year, low adherence to antihypertensive treatment was detected in approximately one fourth of hypertensive patients and was associated with lesser antihypertensive, cardio- and nephroprotective effects.
