Summary

Aim

To determine the rationale for implementation of clinical pharmacology consultation into the Russian obligatory medical insurance system.

Material and methods

We studied the presence of clinical pharmacology consultation in the current standards and clinical guidelines and compared the functions of clinical pharmacologist according to the professional standard and the recommendations of compulsory health insurance.

Results

А discrepancy was revealed between standards and clinical recommendations regarding clinical pharmacology consultation for various diseases. it is recommended to supplement the standards and clinical guidelines for various infectious and inflammatory diseases (pneumonia, sepsis, etc.) that require antibacterial treatment with the mandatory participation of clinical pharmacologist.

Conclusion

We suggested the way of payment for clinical pharmacology consultation in the framework of obligatory medical insurance system.
